Thank God,
Riley wasn't nearly as bad off as he looked when
Dawn and I found him. Pretty banged up, but the only major damage was a broken hand. Major relief.
But that's the good news. I read in the paper that bodies are turning up mysteriously dead again. I visited the morgue (alright, broke in) to check out a gardener who was found a few mornings back and sure enough, found those telltale puncture wounds. So is this the work of
Stone and his boys? Because up 'til now they really haven't been much with the leaving evidence behind.
I have finals in two weeks, I don't need this right now. Arghh, and I haven't even started thinking about Christmas presents. Or Hanukkah presents, in
Will's case, which starts tomorrow, yikes!
The stipend from the Council is cool in that it covers basic expenses and school and stuff, but I really want to give Dawn a nice Christmas, plus there's gifts for the gang and Riley. And the bank account is abysmally lacking in the funds for non-essentials department. Wonder if I could get a temp job at the mall? After classes and studying which means evening which is when I have to patrol--okay, maybe weekends. Or maybe
Anya needs some holiday help. Couldn't hurt to ask, right?
At least Dawnie and I are on better terms since I lifted the grounding, although I think she's still a little miffed about the no-working-past-dark rule. But she went out to the Bronze Friday and came home at a reasonable hour, you're not gonna hear me complaining. Peace in the house is of the good.
