Margaritas, Cons and Snakes.

Sep 08, 2006 17:07

Well it seems that my car felt I needed some time to think, so broke down, giving me a couple days to not have anything to do but sit at home. It was a good time to do laundry and half-ass tidy up my room, and since last night I finished watching my tape of the CSI Las Vegas marathon (<3), I decided to spend some time posting something!

Akon was like it always is, however since I spent most of the weekend helping Olivia run her booth, I didn't spend the weekend driving around like I usually do. I don't mind driving around, but it was just weird that I didn't for once. I didn't spend much time with people that weren't within 50 feet of the booth or staying at my house... pretty much since I didn't do the stuff I'm used to doing all weekend, I kept forgetting it was a con weekend, even though I was right in the middle of it. Next year I'll try to arrange a get together in advance... and maybe, just maybe, people will actually show up to it and I won't have to spend the night trying to not watch something stupid on TV.

Most of July flew by, I do recall having way too much fun at a water gun fight on the 4th of July, but aside from that the rest of the month has bled together into a big puddle of birthdays. It seems that I only know two types of people- People born in July and people not born in July... and it turns out that the majority of people I know fall into the first category. It's an explosion of presents and parties, which isn't a bad thing, but ... I tend to spend the whole month running around trying very hard not to plan two birthday celebrations on the same day. >_> I did find out during this year's stream of parties that I have a hidden gift at making fruity margaritas. Nicole mentioned that when she bought a Mango margarita at a bar it tasted like mine and at Ian and Kristin's party there was a line of people waiting to 'place an order'.

The only thing I can say about August is Snakes on a Plane. Sadly it didn't do as well as I had hoped, and I haven't been able to watch it every weekend like I planned, but when the DVD comes out, I will buy it.

And when did AnimeFest become popular? All weekend I kept wondering where the hell all those people came from. ...when I wasn't thinking 'What is the matter with these people'. Not everyone was crazy, but the people that were crazy sure made up for everyone else. And what is with AnimeFest and being in a hotel where a wedding reception is?

Aside from the usual (work x 2), I will be doing very little besides getting ready for AWA. After seven years of saying I'd try to go ... here I'm finally going to go. I do feel a little guilty for being so excited about going to Georgia for an anime convention. But I guess it's okay because I'm not excited about Georgia, and I sure as hell don't give a shit about the convention. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone that I didn't spend time with at Akon, and also meeting people I haven't seen before. That's mostly the reason I'm not going to spend the entire weekend helping Nicole and Olivia, but I will probably spend most of the time with them just out of habit, I'll just have people in tow. XD

And just because it was so high (93 percent whoa) here's a closer look at how I scored in Extraversion---
Extraversion is marked by pronounced engagement with the external world. Extraverts enjoy being with people, are full of energy, and often experience positive emotions. They tend to be enthusiastic, action-oriented, individuals who are likely to say "Yes!" or "Let's go!" to opportunities for excitement. In groups they like to talk, assert themselves, and draw attention to themselves.

Overall Score : 93
Friendliness : 68
Gregariousness : 94
Assertiveness : 95
Activity Level : 63
Excitement-Seeking : 93
Cheerfulness : 61

-Friendliness: Friendly people genuinely like other people and openly demonstrate positive feelings toward others. They make friends quickly and it is easy for them to form close, intimate relationships. Low scorers on Friendliness are not necessarily cold and hostile, but they do not reach out to others and are perceived as distant and reserved.
-Gregariousness: Gregarious people find the company of others pleasantly stimulating and rewarding. They enjoy the excitement of crowds.
-Assertiveness: High scorers Assertiveness like to speak out, take charge, and direct the activities of others. They tend to be leaders in groups.
-Activity Level: Active individuals lead fast-paced, busy lives. They move about quickly, energetically, and vigorously, and they are involved in many activities. People who score low on this scale follow a slower and more leisurely, relaxed pace.
-Excitement-Seeking: High scorers on this scale are easily bored without high levels of stimulation. They love bright lights and hustle and bustle. They are likely to take risks and seek thrills.
-Cheerfulness: This scale measures positive mood and feelings, not negative emotions (which are a part of the Neuroticism domain). Persons who score high on this scale typically experience a range of positive feelings, including happiness, enthusiasm, optimism, and joy. Low scorers are not as prone to such energetic, high spirits.

My highest score over all was the Anxiety portion of Neuroticism - which was 98 percent. Maybe it's all the bright lights and hustle and bustle. :o

PS. I am so happy that Vincent finally got booted off Project Runway. I just wish someone would have thrown him off the boat too. >:o Yaaaay Michael and Kayne! Win win win! *_*

PSS. And the cranky mood is because my car has been in the shop for almost two days and I hate not having my own form of transportation and I really didn't want to drop so much money before AWA. Missing work is a drag and I want to buy stuff at the grocery store too! Raar. XO

Oh and one last thing I -almost- forgot! Nicole's super cute birthday cake!!! Jump into my mouth ... he seemed to say.

akon, real life update
