ID10T error
So, I completely fucked up my computer today.
Somehow, I associated all my .exe files to be opened by my bit torrent client. NOTHING would run except the programs I already had opened, which unfortunately did not include regedit. After some looking around and help from a few buddies, I started to formulate a solution.
First I deleted my bit torrent client...that was the bitch and I had to slap it. after that, my .exe's were like "WHAT DO WE DO!! WE'RE LOST HELP US OH USER GOD!" After calming them down, I attempted to see what I could do. Well Associating the .exe's with their actual programs seemed to work, but that would mean i would have to look for the appropriate .exe each time I wanted to run something....fuck that.
I then went into my file types menu...tried to see if i could find what exe was associated with....there wasn't anything there...bugger! Well, after futzing around with a .reg fix my friend Tré had suggested, that sadly didn't work with my situation (Thanks for the link anyway...) I went into that file types thing again, and created an exe extension, it wouldn't save it...so i created a .bob extension to see if it would save anything...and it saved that. so i was like "wtf."
I then i recreated the EXE extension that failed to save before and thusly not fix my problem, and associated it with nothing...My computer looked at me was like "you sure you want to do that?" with a weird, confused and frightened look on its face, and i said "yes." then deleted it. "Oh noes!" it said. "Never fear, you shall be restored!" I proclaimed. I then proceeded recreated the EXE extension, and it was like "uh...what now boss, i'm lost!!" and i said "application mother fucker, do you use it?" and it was like "oh..ok cool" and so now...it works.
