[So what, exactly, has Alex been doing since his arrival here? Aside from that little mishap known as an experiment, not much, frankly. Today, however, one may run into the blue-haired Adept at the library, reading through... a rather large stack of books. In particular, he seems to be reading up on the legends and mythology of various worlds ( Read more... )

[After awhile, one of the people who works in and around the library will swing by to check up on things.]

U-um, excuse me. Have you, um...found everything you were looking for, or is there anything you need help with?

(ooc: Mine will be kind of slow too, but you proooobably already know this thanks to those Brooke/Nu threads :|a)

[When Koakuma addresses him, he simply looks up from the book he's currently reading and smiles.]

I believe what I have already found is enough for now, but thank you for your offer. [And there's nothing else he needs help with, either. Not at the moment, at least.]

[ooc: No worries ♪ We'll just be slow together. :|b]

Alright. Feel free to call for someone if you do need anything, though.

[She'll just be over here, putting back some returns.]

I suppose the most well-known legend in our world was that of the Six Heroes. They saved our world from a creature known as the Black Beast. Before they came along, it had killed half the world's population, so it was certainly quite the feat.

It is a rather long story, but if you're interested, I'd be happy to share.

[[ooc: If Tsubaki wants to threadjack at any point and ramble about Hakumen the Six Heroes, feel free. XD]]

Seriously? It'd be something to talk about when work is slow, so maybe you could tell me too when we have the time?

Of course! Like I said, it really is a rather long story, but needless to say, it was a very major event in our world's history. Nearly everything all ties back to the Black Beast and the Six Heroes.

It may take a while to tell, but I can certainly do my best.

I've got time, don't worry.

[If Litchi wants to start now instead of waiting for Brooke to meet her directly, she can go right ahead with it.]

There's quite a few legends in my own world. Are there any you have a particular interest in?

[Of course she has no idea that she already told Alex one of them.]

I favor legends about lost civilizations. But at the moment, I simply wish to hear of any tales from other worlds.

[He's honestly just interested in learning more about other worlds, and since the history and legends of a world are things he's always been interested in... He's not being too picky about specific subjects at the moment.]

There have actually been quite a few civilizations in my world. Basically life gets created by the gods and as long as the humans don't attempt to rise above the gods and forget that they exist, the humans can live in peace. Unfortunately, the humans always forget as time passes and the gods rise up to try and deal with this and the humans don't accept it and end up destroyed.

[Gods that attempt to deal with humans that forget about them and strive to rise above them by destroying them.

...Well then. There's a short pause before he responds.]

Was there reason for their course of action? Attempting to destroy their own creations for such a thing seems rather... drastic.

I do not know many tales of civilizations, but I do know plenty of heroes. [She's pretty much has a mythological library of hero stories in her head from the influence of the Throne.] Most of the tales are fairly tragic unfortunately.

Many tales are tragic in nature, it would seem. [Tragic to a varying extent, but still.]

Are there any particular tales that you are willing to share?

Would you like to hear the tale of Perseus?

Of course. [Perseus is not a name he recognizes at the moment, but that's just all the more reason for him to want to hear about this particular tale.]

Depends. There's a lot of mythology and legends floating around all three places I've visited.

[If this wasn't text, Alex would probably be able to see the huge smile on Murasa's face right now.]

I'm best with oceans, though. Not so good with others.

["All three places." ...Interesting choice of words.]

Ah, a seafarer, I assume? [If she's familiar with ocean-related mythology and legends, the odds of her being a seafarer seem pretty high.]

Is there a particular legend that you are willing to share?

In a way, yes.

How about...oh, I know. The funayuurei? Ship-ghosts, the word means.
