It was almost surreal.

Well, the Bleed always was--so like hyperspace and yet so unlike it--but this time when he sat observing it, Luke felt almost detached, like he was watching events unfold from outside himself.  How to process the information the doctors on board had given him?  How to tell the man he'd asked to meet him what needed to be said?

Jedi were supposed to be good at this kind of thing.  But today the Force was silent, not providing any guidance as to how to proceed.

Even that began to make him doubt.  Standing in front of the long windows, hands clasped behind his back, Luke lost himself in a bottomless swirl of thoughts and what-ifs and possibilities, waiting for Obi-Wan to arrive.
