I live on one of the borders of the Palatinate forest and there's an abundance of wildlife here, but I suspect this falcon escaped from a falconry in a nearby village. It let me get close and seemed to have little fear of humans. It was just chilling out too and had no interest in hunting birds so I guess it wasn't very hungry, but the swarms of birds were going bonkers. I went indoors after several bumped into me in their panic. I was fascinated because they've probably never seen a falcon before, but instinctively knew this was bad news. It's not even their size that makes them dangerous. We see larger birds like milans, eagle owls or storks, but falcons have lightning speed that make the bigger ones look like slow-pokes. I hate to see birds die, but I was a little disappointed not to see it demonstate its super-power. LOL!
