keep the bastards guessing
woooh crazy couple of weeks. i'm writing a huge post privately cause a lot has happened and i really don't care to bore you all. today was nice and mellow...i told myself last night that i would write my speech today and, lo and behold, i did! i was expecting to do what i had done in the past semester...tell myself i would write and then wait till the last minute. but i've pretty much finished it except for the very end and lots of editing. it's a couple of minutes too long right now.
i went to the NICEST soup kitchen on the east side this evening. it was restaurant style and the food looked really good. the church that hosted it was also ridiculously nice. i've gone to two soup kitchens in the past few weeks (one of them twice), so i feel like i have a good idea of what's nice and what isn't. (lizzie and i have become part of new york cares, a community service organization, in order to fulfill our community service requirements...just to clarify). the one that lizzie and i went to these past two sundays is awesome. i'm gonna come back to it in late june (when it meets next) cause it's just a lot of fun. we fed 989 people yesterday. besides feeling good about feeding people, there's something so satisfying about being part of this huge assembly line. it's so efficient.
after that i napped quickly and then had drinks with jeremy. it was nice to talk to him since i hadn't in a while. my fortune cookie said "happiness is sitting in front of you." that was a little weird. other than that...a good day.
so yeah prom's tomorrow. everybody get pumped for wasting 106 dollars.
