She stands, hair flying back from the force of the curse.
Eyes gleam black and all humanity is gone from her.
He wakes up in the morning, cool hand on his face.
"Are you okay?" she whispers; the insane part of him wants to scream.
He shakes his head, clenches his eyes shut.
Blocks out the world, forgets all he can.
It's impossible, images flicker past him, fast and faster.
She moves closer, lips touch his.
He breaks.
Screams and shouts at her, tears stream down his face.
She leans back on her legs, watches with sad eyes.
"It wasn't me, never me," she promises, pleads.
He never believes; wants to believe.
Wants to empty his thoughts and wish they'd met under different times.
Instead he shuts his eyes and waits for the morning.
