The very beginning; but denial always burns brightly until she’s blinded.
She hates the fact that she’s crying; stupid fucking tears when she doesn’t want to feel at all.
The short brunette tumbles off of the bed, quickly pulling clothes to her body.
Her face is dark red, and she looks anywhere but at flaming blue.
When did she become so naive? The old Serena, smart Serena, would have immediately figured it out.
Secret gazes and not-too secret touches.
“Don’t ever speak to me!” she screams, shouts (wants to drink until she forgets her own name).
They both stare at her, stare because they pity her.
She knows it.
Nothing ever works out for her, and she’s become so familiar to disappointment.
He tries to draw her into him and she shoves him back; screams till her lungs blacken and rust.
“I hate you, you both,” she whispers, because there aren’t any more screams left in her.
The new Serena is an idiot, a fool.
Everyone takes advantage of a Queen’s fool.
“Serena, wait!” the Queen shouts watching the tall blonde stroll out of the room.
But she doesn't, she keeps walking because disappointment is an old friend she wants to abandon.
