So Penn State absolutely slaughtered Northwestern University today; if I remember correctly, the final score was 49-0. I actually left the game after the third quarter since by then PSU was up 42 to nothing and so there wasn’t exactly a lot of tension left. My thanks to Petrone for getting me the ticket, even if the game took place during the coldest, most godforsaken weather of the year. Also, I foolishly bought both a cheeseburger and fries while there, adding to a total cost of over five dollars. Between that and dinner, I’ve eaten three cheeseburgers today, which I’m sure isn’t too good for me.
I’m still pretty pissed about the fact that “Minority Report” won’t be coming to the HUB as one of the free movies. When I first came back to Penn State this semester, quite a number of people told me that they had seen a preview guide for the upcoming movies and it was among them, but it seems that someone running the program, in their infinite wisdom, decided to ditch the film in favor of crap like “Mr. Deeds.” I’d just like to see it again before the DVD comes out in mid-December. Speaking of the free movies, I saw “Undercover Brother” not that long ago and laughed my ass off. Take that, Butler.
Interestingly, I got a comment from someone reading my journal entries that there’s too much profanity (wasn’t my parents, by the way). Anyone else feel the same? While we’re on the subject of the content of this journal, I think it’s about high time to get back to filling this web space with creative writing - these recaps on my life are hitting an all-time low in terms of how boring they’re getting. I’m not sure if I want to do another philosophical rant again, since I’ve done it twice now. Poetry might not be a bad idea, but that usually takes a little bit of inspiration. Maybe I should go back to my idea of serialized stories, although the problem there is that it would probably take quite a bit of pre-planning, when the purpose of these journals is just to write what comes naturally. In any event, look for something far more interesting in this space soon enough.
I’m out.
