The last week has been draining.
Three days at the coffee shop
Three days at the law office.
Four evenings with E
(Hey, good times can be draining too. Thus, draining does not equal bad. It can equal a late-evening, mid-visit nap though.)
Four days of allergies cleaning my clock
One evening of throwing a surprise party
Three days of cleaning the house for 2+ hours
Four days during which I mowed the lawn at some point.
Three days of trying to call my family's car insurance agent, one of meeting with her co-worker
One day of said insurance agent's co-worker unnerving me to "angry music" point
Drunken former employer/family friend
One messed-up attempt at a burger BBQ with other family friends.
Hmm... just last weekend, put 700 miles on my car in less than 24 hours and helped host a wedding reception.
Learned that I have a second job interview what quite likely could be the best interim/learning experience/entry-level job ever.
Was formerly introduced to a new go-getter in a church.
Was asked if I could help paint the basement of the church during any of five days.
Watched four movies, one of which got me on edge for the next two days.
Then there was the instance where Adam and Ben "helped" me out by buying groceries. Three bags of snacks--no meal material (fruit snacks, granola bars, toaster strudel, juice boxes, bagels, etc.). They didn't put them away. Twenty-four hours later, after a night in Northfield, sleep, a morning in the coffee house, and mowing the lawn, I find them on the bill desk. Fun times.
And Mom freak-out moments.
I'm going to bed. Well, at least within the next hour.
I want to run tomorrow. I need to start scheduling "me" time like that again--"me" time that I haven't loaded with projects, deadlines, or measurable goals.
6am wake-up. Oh, yeah.
Oh, I watched The Wedding Date again with my mom tonight. I liked it better this time. Last song and the one that got my mom crying:
"Save the Last Dance for Me" - Michael Buble
You can dance-every dance with the guy
Who gives you the eye,let him hold you tight
You can smile-every smile for the man
Who held your hand neath the pale moon light
But don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin' save the last dance for me
Oh I know that the music's fine
Like sparklin' wine,go and have your fun
Laugh and sing, but while we're apart
Don't give your heart to anyone
But don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin' save the last dance for me
Baby don't you know I love you so
Can't you feel it when we touch
I will never never let you go
I love you oh so much
You can dance,go and carry on
Till the night is gone
And it's time to go
If he asks if you're all alone
Can he walk you home, you must tell him no
'Cause don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darling, save the last dance for me
'Cause don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darling, save the last dance for me
Save the last dance for me
Save the last dance for me.
