How do I not have a sexy boots icon?

I like shoes. Boots in particular. And in retrospect, following the shoelust account on tumblr may have been a bad idea. But I've promised myself that since I did buy sensible winter boots, and I bought boots for halloween, and I'm about to buy sneakers for work again, I am allowed one new pair of shoes or boots for my own personal wearing ( Read more... )

This is your fault, by the way. You and your fashion post, reminding me about wanting spats. I'm surprised you haven't tried making your own, honestly.

I vote for the Franco Sarto's. Very cute and classy. Bet they'd look great with spats.

I've been looking for a cute pair of brown or tan ankle boots for fall/winter, but I haven't had any luck so far.

Really, no luck? But those are supposed to be the in look this season, I thought... Although that may be my utter lack of a sense of what's in speaking. I went to probably half a dozen shoe shops recently, and it seems like I saw those. Are you looking for a heel, or a flatter sole?

I would have thought I'd find lots too. I want flats... I saw plenty of heeled knee-high boots. Either ankle boots aren't in this season or the stores around here are still picked over from the back-to-schoolers. I wanted to get a knee length knit sweater too, but I couldn't find that either (and I usually see those everywhere this time of year).

I haven't seen sweaters like that in years... At least, not the style I like, which is the kind that's more like a knee length jacket that happens to be sweater material. Flats are always harder to find, because apparently things like rough terrain and dresscodes don't occur in the fashion world. Hopefully some turn up, though.

I love the Franco Sarto, but they are both really, really cute.

PS: When I was in high school our neighbor's house exploded from a gas leak. Earlier that morning the country club a few miles away burned down from a gas leak. It was a wild day.

They both are. But most people seem to prefer the Franco Sarto shoes, and I do have 2 pairs of boots similar in style to the other shoes, so I did decide on the Franco Sarto pair in the end.
