I am so tired. I didn't make it as late as usual last night, and even after a full night's sleep I'm thinking of going back to bed. Argh. That is not on - I have chores today! Laundry, and grocery shopping, and buying gas, and maybe some nice black capris so I can look cute and not like I'm playing dress-up in my mother's clothes for the Bastille Day party.
Yeah. The one real drawback of going back to my Colorado waistsize is how I got rid of all my skinny pants so I wouldn't feel fat. And now everything hangs off me ridiculously. Actually, even my new jeans don't fit how I'd like anymore, which is just plain ornery of them.
Last night Dean and I went to a couple movies - Transformers and Ratatouille.
We concluded that Ratatouille is an interesting, layered movie, but Transformers though visually and technologically mind-blowing, is empty - the feel good action movie of the summer. The new Die Hard movie was deeper. Ratatouille is an interesting look at race. And, simply by nature of the plot, at the way Americans view France/French culture. There is a show on a tv in the movie at one point, and it really seemed to me that it was trying to seem French, as opposed to actually feeling French.
I think it would have been amazing if they had released it in French with subtitles. It would have made such an interesting movie. And I think they could find a market for it. Maybe I'm crazy.
Last night I really missed my brother. I saw him during Winchest Midwest, so the end of last month, which makes it a bit soon. I don't want to live in Chicago, but I almost thought about it last night. Not sure why.
