POSITION: Technological director (full-time permanent job, based in Montreal, Canada)
Stimulated by the technological direction of a successful B2C multimedia product worldwide that
combines all platforms (Web, mobile applications, Facebook, Cloud computing, e-commerce,
etc.).
Company description: UGroupMedia is a company that specializes in the development and
implementation of innovative solutions in field of video customization for different platforms.
Thanks to its technological solution called “U” that allows the creation of customized videos,
real-time editing based on user’s choices or on actual user profiles, UGroupMedia produces and
designs the Portable North Pole application that has been so successful in several countries
since 2008.
Main functions
Team and project management
Management role of the production team
o Take part in the hiring process of new resources (internal/external) required to
ensure the efficiency of our production activities.
Supervise technological projects of our company
o Supervise junior project managers, programmers, system administrators, etc.
o Establish and meet deadlines.
o Participate in project analysis.
o Design and follow up on the project plan.
Evaluate and select technological suppliers.
Participate in the implementation of the agile methodology within the company.
Identify and document projects in the field of R&D and collaborate with the company
responsible for RS&DE requests.
Act as a main senior contact person with partners and customers.
Technological directorate
Participate in the elaboration of the company business plan.
Consider business impacts when making technological choices.
Participate in technological choices together with the lead developer and the CTO.
Ensure the technological watch in collaboration with the CTO.

Develop applications on Android + Apple

Needed qualifications and experience
Training and experience
Undergraduate university diploma in a relevant field.
Between 5 and 10 years of experience in the management of a development team.
Superior skills in project management.
Experience in multimedia video.
Very good technical knowledge and good capacity to acquire new knowledge.

Technical profile
At least 5 years of experience in PHP programming.
Good knowledge and experience with the Kohana 3 framework.
At least 5 years of experience with databases and very good knowledge of MySQL.
Knowledge of HTTP and of how to interact with RESTful Web services is considered an
asset.
Good experience with the Linux platform.
Skills
Bilingual; good written and verbal communication skills.
