Since Naoto's probably not going to talk about her birthday, I'm doing it for her! It's coming up, actually, on the 27th-- and she's been pretty homesick lately, so even if you can just wish her a Happy Birthday or send a card, that'd be great.
Unless you're from home-- no skipping out, you guys! We're giving her a party, so you'd better get a move on!

[ this video part comes a bit later. From the looks of things, Rise's chilling in Goldenrod's Pokémon Center, out in the lobby. She may look a little subdued, since a few of her buddies have gone home and Lightning still hasn't woken up, but she's cheery enough when she speaks.
Feel free to disregard the fact that she's nursing a rather large bump on her head. ]
Well, now I know how you get a Steelix! Crystal's happy about it, but she... um, kind of still thinks she's a dog, and she hasn't really gotten the knack of not wagging her tail.
[ which is adorable and all, except when you are almost nine hundred pounds and made of REALLY HARD ROCK, so wagging your tail knocks your trainer over. ]
Aaaanyway, I was wondering about something. Does anyone know what kind of egg this is? [ a pause, where she lifts a blue and white egg to the gear. ] Whoever sent it didn't leave a name, but it's got to be close to hatchi--
[ speak of the devil, the egg is deciding to light up and blind the entire lobby in the process. And when the glow dies down...
... There is a baby Piplup staring up at his new trainer, who is staring down at him with a completely baffled expression. And then up at the screen with that same expression, because SHE DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING. ]
O-okay, who got me a penguin?? I don't think it's-- whoa! Careful!!
[ clearly the penguin is so manly, he's got to try and walk already and succeeds only in falling off her lap with Rise catching him before he hits the ground. The 'gear, sadly, hits the ground with a thunk while the Piplup raises a protest. AWW I COULD'VE TOTALLY HANDLED THAT-- ]
... I may not be at Naoto's level, but even I know penguins can't fly, mister.
