Orihara-san... [ Rise looks pensive for a minute, then flashes him a smile. ] Thanks for watching.

You put on quite a show... It just wouldn't have been right to turn away.

Was there a particular reason for the little show?

Oh-- it was for Himiko, actually.

[He nods, looking towards the Bellossom.] That would be Himiko, I'd presume.

It's quite an interesting choice for a name as well. [Going on the assumption that she's named after the shaman queen of Yamataikoku... and if she's not, then it's storytime!]

[ man, Izaya, you do wonders for Rise's mythological knowledge. ]

Huh? Why do you say that? [ all she knows is that Himiko and Kanzeon are named after mythological figures, especially after learning about Izanagi and Izanami. Does she know their stories? Nooope. ]

Ah... you don't know, then? [Well Rise, prepare for some tl;dr.]I suppose it's not all that surprising. It's not something they teach standard in Japanese history classes, after all. Perhaps it's because the history is unclear; there's really no solid definitions of if and and when it happened. And if it did, there's been centuries-long dispute over the time frame ( ... )

[ ... that is indeed some epic tl;dr, bro. And periods and areas are going right over her head. ]

A shaman queen in actual history... maybe that's why it's not official. But wow... she sounds really mysterious.

[It can't be helped, he has tangents he needs to go on sometimes. He doesn't expect her to actually get all of it, though.]

Even disregarding that much, the disputes in her history are more likely to be what kept them from including it. Years ruled, other known rulers of her time... even the Chinese and Japanese accounts of what she did and when all seem to be under dispute. There's even question of where the land was located.

Really, it's much easier to omit a troublesome piece of history, despite its validity. She certainly existed; though how much she actual did was under debate -- I suppose it's not much different than some well-known Western folklore, though much of that his highly believed even without necessarily being able to account for its validity.

Troublesome, huh? And no one could figure out the actual truth...

[ Rise's smile is an odd one. Slightly sad, slightly understanding. And then, on a whim-- ]

Do you know anything about a "Kanzeon", Orihara-san?
