So I usually love to take long rambling walks, but since I've moved out to Madison there has been winter weather and other general unpleasantness to keep me either inside or simply moving from point A to point B, strictly transportation. Last night, however, I went for a truly wonderful walk with Lex, mostly just talking, catching up and reminiscing about times gone by, speculating about the future, you know the usual stuff friends do. I just plotted the course our walk took on a map and it was about 9 miles of walking, which roughly fits the time it took. Unfortunately my shoes are awfully thin soled, and as such I literally have bruises over the bottoms of my feet. I don't regret the walk at all but I really need to go get some better shoes before I do that again. throw in the fact that I haven't walked more than 2 miles or so in a few months and my knees are stiff (especially the one that got knocked around in various jostles).
Moral of the Story: I need to get out and walk a bunch more, as this was both fun and made me feel good on a physical level (before the bruising set in anyway).
