The amusement never stops, brej. Disney has a
trailer up for their upcoming hilariously cheezy-looking skating movie, The Ice Princess. It stars Michelle Trachtenberg (of Harriet the Spy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer "fame") as a nerdy girl who somehow suddenly starts landing triples and gets fast-tracked into elite-level competitive skating (uh huh... right), Joan Cusack as her mom, and Kim Cattrall (of Sex in the City) as her coach; the movie was filmed in Toronto and Jennifer Robinson and former junior Canadian champ Lauren Wilson alternated as Trachtenberg's skating double. Michelle Kwan also makes a cameo in the movie as a commentator, as seen in the trailer.
The whole thing looks even cheezier than The Cutting Edge, but I happen to think The Cutting Edge is one of the greatest movies of all time (no, really... no, REALLY!!! *snikkerz*), so it looks like it'll be good times. Between this and the upcoming
movie of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I'll have more than my share of teenybopper viewing to stay in tune with my students. Heh.
