This is why I Russian language... I read somewhere-and subsequently made the claim-that Russian language is 2nd hardest in the world to learn after Japanese. A co-worker wanted proof. I said "Take your word 'RUN'. How many derivatives can you get? 'RAN' and 'RUNNING'." Here's some derivatives of 'RUN' in Russian. These mostly from the top of my head, I'm sure there's more. This can be applied, in varying degrees, to most verbs - jump, fly, flip, stutter, fall.... The key word, I told him, is "2nd hardest to learn CORRECTLY". Note that you cannot replace a single one of these within a specific context and expect it to make grammatical sense.
