So- I was reading
copperbadge's lj like the crazed stalker I am... (he wrote Stealing Harry! Hurrah!) and he linked to this article. It's awsome! Yay! TV = gin. Read it!
Still wondering what to do about my original story. I think I'll probably set it in England, which is going to be a pain to research but still a lot of fun. This way I won't have to reverse Brit-pick things, and can instead go around telling people random facts that I learn and talking in a fake accent...
(You think I'm kidding, but I'm not, actually...)
I am now officially out of high school! w00t! My graduation was on Monday, and I spent the whole thing thinking about fanfiction and being amused/bored since I'd read all but one of the speeches before. Whole lot of family and friends came to my graduation party, and my grandma and mum came to visit. It worked out fine at first, but my mum stayed, and now it's getting awkward. I seem to have become the go-between for my aunt and mum, which makes me want to avoid both.
For example:
Aunt: Go tell your mom that it's too late for her to be reading bedtime stories to Small Child Number 2. It's ten o'clock and SC1 has to go to school tomorrow, so she shouldn't be up. It's inappropriate for your mom to keep her up so late. She needs to go to sleep now.
...
...
(continues in this vein for several minutes, as if berating me for my mum's behaviour)
Rd: Okay. (goes into the other room) Aunt wants Small Child Number 2 to go to bed now.
Mum: Oh. Okay
It happens the reverse way, too, but not as often. I'm sick of it, so sick.
