Thanks for reading and commenting :P Really, really glad you're not put off by this story. I know, I feel bad for him too. And four's such a lovely age too lol, I loved being four.

I'd like to second everything hilsonlover said. And then I'd like to add that I like how House cared and tried to help Wilson here. :-)

Thank you very much for replying :) Yeah, I think given House's own history he'd want more than anything to make sense of what Wilson's been through.

What a powerful chapter. I had to read almost every paragraph twice to process all the information--and I mean that as a compliment. All this happening to a four year-old is very intense stuff, and it comes across very real.

The following lines broke my heart:

...there was a feral kind of look in his eye, like he was some frightened little puppy shut out in the cold too long and was now being boxed into the corner by a wilder animal or a group of moronic youths.

and,

“If they'd have addressed the issue,” Wilson admitted, shame-faced, “I'd probably have lied through my teeth to keep him around. How sick is that?”

The story just continued to turn me inside-out right to the end. The last lines were haunting.

(You might consider adding a warning to your header stating that a frank discussion about child abuse takes place in this chapter.)

Thanks so much for reading and replying, and thanks again for the note about the warning lol. It didn't even register with me and it's such an obvious thing too. Duh lol.

Glad you enjoyed it. Awk, I know, poor wee Wilson. I've hurt Small-child!Wilson :(
