I had only heard of 4 of those 11 brands, so thank you one and all. I'm going to a reputable and upscale walking shoe store tomorrow, get fitted, do some research on the Intarwebz, and if I'm ready, go shoe shopping tomorrow night. If not, I'll wait until Friday. Whatever happens, I'll report back here when a purchase has been made.
Also, Big Ups to evolutionofjake, for the best "fun shoe story."
There's one thing I've definitely learned in all this: Unless I'm really lucky, I'm pretty much gonna have to shell out $100 for a good pair of shoes.
