(no subject)
wow. it's been kind of a long time since i've updated anything on livejournal. um, let's see... things are all kinds of awesome. i'm working at the wild animal park every single day playing keys with Bolga (the west african highlife band i've been in for a coupla years) and saving up a lot of money... hopefully i'll be able to pay off my piano by the end of the summer, or at least a big part of it. that piano was so expensive, but completely absolutely worth it. the main music thing that's been going on has been playing with a newish band called silverbird. i joined the band after meeting justin rodriguez (he used to sing in counterfit) and at the beginning it was just me on piano and him on guitar/vocals... but now we have the fabulous morgan young on drums... all we need is a perfect bass player and we'll be set. though we also want to eventually have a lap/pedal steel player. but yeah. i'm really excited about it.
been hanging out with dylan a lot, which is fucking AWESOME... he works at people's, so consequently i spend most of my time in ocean beach eating vegan food, sitting around at the tea shop, or just watching curb your enthusiasm at his place. or watching glassjaw videos on youtube. or just biking around. yeah. the only frustrating thing about the summer so far has been the fact that my work schedule conflicts with almost ALL of my friends' schedules. so, consequently i barely get to see anyone (including dylan), and my social interaction is limited to weekends and late late nights. but hey. school's starting again in a little over a week, and things will probably be slightly more normal then.
in the meantime, i have to re-learn french by the end of the month. because i'm enrolled in french II.
