the gay gene
My head feels like it's going to explode. I don't know if it's just sinus pressure from allergies or if I'm getting a cold. Either way, it only continues the bad luck of getting sick on or around my birthday every year. Fuck. I want to sleep for 24 hours straight.
Some good news though! Yesterday, before my sinuses decided to reek havoc on me, I went to my families Labor Day picnic where I finally met my dads gay cousin Jerry. I've heard about him for years and how he lives in New York and was always such a great guy. My parents especially liked to bring him up when I started to get gay man obsessed but I never got to meet him. Turns out he came into town for the long weekend and came to the picnic. I was so happy and he was totally amazing! I adore him. He's in his late 40's now but he's still fabulous. And we bounded over our mutal hatred for Ohio and other rural towns and our favor of big cities. He's on facebook so I'm going to see if I can perhaps spark up a friendship with my long lost gay family member. And perhaps he'll even offer me a chance to come visit him in New York someday, but I'm getting a little ahead of myself there :)
