Yesterday I had a wonderful birthday.
It started with me sleeping in late and waking up to several messages on my phone wishing me a happy birthday. I had a quiet few hours until I had to get all pretty for a fancy dinner out with my parents and grandparents. I went all out and curled my hair, had a cute outfit, sparkly clutch purse, and sexy heels. We went to this restaurant called Hyde Park that was really fancy. I had never been there before so I was thrilled to go somewhere different. When we got there is was super luxurious, definitely my style. We got a special shrimp hors d'oeuvres that were delicious, next were impressive salads, then steak to die for. Then of course for dessert I got a slice of cheesecake with a candle and fruit decorating the plate. There is nothing like fine dining. My grandparents were a little bit of a downer because they kept complaining about everything and commenting about everyone around us. But I didn't let them ruin the whole evening. The waiter kept asking me if I wanted a shot because it was my 21st birthday, but I politely declinded. A 21st birthday is wasted on me since I don't drink.
When we came back home my grandparents stayed for a while, but after they watched Jepordary they left. So after that, me and my mom stayed up and watched The Adventures of Prescilla, Queen of the Desert. It was a good day.
However, the birthday celebrating has yet to cease since tomorrow I'm getting together with all my friends for a game night followed by a larger family get together on sunday. So it will be quite the weekend. Then I just have to ride out next week until the 19th when I go on vacation with my parents to Myrtle Beach. All very exciting.
This birthday definitely makes up for the disaster of last years.
