Had to head up to London today for a meeting at our finial year show venue... which lasted all of a hour. So my friend Ben and I decided that since we'd had to spend £20 getting up there we were damn well making the most of the day.
So we decided to geek out, and went to the Doctor Who Experience at the Olympia. Which was amazing :3 I'm a second generation who-geek, my Dad is a total fanboy for the series and used to watch it when he was little, so I practically grew up on the series :D
All I can say is, if you're a who fan and in London for some reason, GO. It's a bit pricey (£20 on the door, tho you can get it for cheaper if you pre-book) but its awesome. There's an interactive bit where you're toured through a load of rooms, including inside the tardis (you get to help drive it! :D) and help the doctor escape from the prison he's in. Its all a little cheesy (in the good way!) but Ben and I spent the whole time in utter glee. And peeing ourselves in terror when you have to walk through the room filled with Weeping Angels. You better believe we didn't blink XD
After the tour you get to wander round the place and look at all the bits on show, they've got all the Doctor's regenerations outfits (I never realised how detailed some of them were! The 4th Doctor's little broaches and the teddy bear buttons on the 6th Doctor's shirt blew me away). Then there's were the models of all the aliens from the show, including a line up of all the Daleks and Cybermen through the years :'3 And the 10th Doctor's tardis console that you can wander around.
Oh, and a big screen showing the preview trailer for the next season :3 I think we stood there watching the thing loop through for about ten min XD
Only had my mobile on me, so forgive the slightly crappy photos (and my hipstamatic obsession XD)
TARDIS! :D
Annnnnnnd the Tardis console :D
It's all the little details like the post-it notes written in Gallifreyan that I love :3
K-9 <3! He was sat next to Sarah Jane's outfit which I found pretty adorable :'3
There were so many Daleks :'3 Glee.
I've always found the Heavenly Hosts pretty creepy...
This cracked us up. Quite possibly the best bit XD
Then since we were passing through King's Cross station we decided to visit platform 9 and 3/4. :B Because we are massive geeks.
Annnnnnnnnnd then we got the train home, and spent most of it messing around with the Adipose toy Ben bought (it's squishy!)
