Storyline Notes: Doushikai
Every time I get bored and read
maltec_spider's character profiles, my fingers itch to work on some of mine. I love her story and detail, and I'm always behind on something. ANYWAY. I decided to put some of the Dou stuff down on paper.
Most people who know us online know that Chu and I met Ogre through Gaia Online, most specifically a shop she was running called "Doushikai.' That storyline has been a long and fruitful RP for us long after the shop closed, developing very strong characters. I've always felt very honored to have become an integral part of Grr's story; these characters are some of the most beloved I've ever created and interacted with.
The story all begins with a vast Arena where various planets send their champions to fight for prestige and power; wars are often resolved in the Arena. A client commissioned a genetic scientist (Ogre, the character Grr takes her name from) to create a race of warriors for the Arena. Thus, the Doushikai were born- magically enhanced super soldiers. The continent where they lived was separated into the North and South, the North being more 'magical' and fantasy-esque and the South being urban-modern. Hence, we have two very different character types that now interact. There are MANY MANY characters in this story, but these are the ones with doll plans so far. (Chu might have plans for her characters, but she hasn't made them clear. XD)
Name: Leander I'qath
Theoretical Doll: ???/Cherishdoll Favian (No SD chosen as of yet)

Lee's concept upon his creation was 'The BlackMage.' He is a Dou with exceptionally, terrifyingly strong magic of every single element (ice is his forte), and the ability to tap into the lifeforce of the world for nearly limitless power. He came into creation in the RP as a goofy 17-year-old who liked to ice skate, and ended up forming bonds with certain characters that lead him to a much greater destiny. His brother Manen raised him, and is the source of much of his values and responsibility. His bondmate (life mate), Ascot, was the first 'bad guy' he encountered, and the first evidence of Lee's solid belief in the fundamental goodness of people. He refused to give up on Ascot, and eventually turned his lover to the side of good. Mostly. Lee also befriended the true bad guy of the Dou world, the sociopath called Lilith, and the two have a surprisingly strong relationship despite their agonizing differences of opinion. He's made many other friends in both North and South, since his personality is unfailingly boyish and likable. He and Ascot have several children, including one of Lee's from another relationship and one of theirs from a seperate timeline.
Much of our story revolves around the crazy stuff that happens to Lee (Grr rejoices in breaking him and making me cry, lol). Lee's magic makes him the planet's MVP. He has saved the world twice now from destruction, and evacuated his planet to save the race once. Repeated hardships and loss have grown him up into a strong, inspiring leader (no matter that he still burns himself on his hot cocoa and occasionally runs into walls in his enthusiasm). When their world fell and they evacuated to a new planet, a new government was formed- with a somewhat reluctant Lee in charge. He is now the King of Kirjath-Sepher (their solar system), and has proved to be pretty good at his job.

Theoretical Doll: Alice in Labyrinth Bertram
Owner: Ogre
Leander's older brother, the dignified and tradtional Unicorn Doushikai. He is the keeper of the great Northern Library, has been an advisor to every Northern King except the first, and is generally extremely antisocial and extremely loving and supportive of his family. He is the only mage trusted with the knowledge of Time magic, and has touched the timeline in several places to shift events, bring past people forward, and help Lee save the world. His bondmate is Naphtali Chaim, a desert prince; together they have four sons, two sets of twins. Manen utterly despises all forms of modern technology and refuses to use them.

Commonly called the Great Man on the streets (and jokingly among his friends), the Dark Chocolate Doushikai is likely one of the most charismatic and influential members of the storyline, largely because many of the others don't care enough to exert his power. Once, the main city of the South was ruled by four mafia lords called the Southern Kings; Demi was one of them, as the head of the Ballotin Empire, controlling vast assets and people in the rich districts of town. Demi is all about class, family, and Good Business. He was raised in Ogre's labs until he was 15, refusing to be adopted out, and considers Manen his older brother. Through the various crazy world events, he's grown close to Lee and become one of his top advisors, bringing his practical business sense and strong politics to ruling the world.
Demi's romantic life has been extremely complicated. He was once bonded to Seraph Tien, brother to his arc-nemesis, Fai Li. Despite this fact, there was always very strong chemistry between him and Fai. When Seraph was killed, he and Fai ended up together, forming a very devoted family with their children. Of course, when Seraph came back from the dead, things got hectic, but all of that is in the past. Demi is the only Dou to stop being a Dou; he is infused with dragon essence, and is now a silver dragon. However, he still smells like chocolate.

Fai is not a Dou, but instead a Dragon God- the Jade Emperor, to be precise, one of the Guardians of the world. He was also one of the Southern Kings, happily in a war to the death with Demitasse until circumstances changed for them both (see above). Snarky and unpredictable, he is one of Lee's trusted advisors, and excels at cutting through the bullshit when politics have gotten too intricate. Despite his sarcasm, Fai is exceptionally loyal and family-focused, a tremendously good father and excellent source of advice.

Theoretical Doll: Tan DOI / Dollmore Kid Pado Suntan
Owner: Ogre
A child of prophecy, the son of a demon and angel but 100% of both. Ogre is reputed to be mean, conniving, manipulative, ruthless, petty, and vicious...and yeah, he's all of those things. However, he also has reasons for everything he does, a fact which is often overlooked by people who aren't close enough to him to understand. All of the Dou are his 'children,' and yet very few think of him this way- notably Manen, who was one of the very first, and Demitasse, the only one who thinks of him no-questions-asked as his parent. Lee also holds some of this regard for him. Ogre is everywhere, can do anything, has been in planetary prisons multiple times, and yet...when it comes down to it, he's often the one pulling the strings to keep everything from falling apart. (He's the one that told Lee he should be the new King.) He tolerates the company of his long-time lover, Tea.

Theoretical Doll: Dollmore Ripley Days - Deep Blue
Owner: Britain
Tea is an Erdgeist, a spirit of the universe's energy...FF7 fans might call it the 'Lifestream.' He has no actual solid form, but can become any energy and affect said energy. He takes a human male form, and in this form he discovered and fell in love with Ogre. For many years they worked for rival factions (Ogre's Diagon Church, Tea's Kilshorn), but have recently both abandoned these groups to live (somewhat) peacefully together. Their favorite activity is trying to kill each other. They are both powerful fighters, and enjoy the challenge. Tea has been in Ogre's life off and on for centuries, and was actually there to be a father to Manen, so he considers many of the Dou his children.
There are also two others, from a different shop on Gaia- the GMFC. These two were born on a different world and don't actually connect to the Dou world except that Ogre is Nico's father, but we sort of group them together anyway.
Ransom and Nico grew up together, childhood friends, and eventually discovered they were made for each other. They've got their own supernatural quirks, but were raised in a modern world where such things are considered normal.

At one point, Ogre lived on Gaia, a distant world where he met and married a woman named Fyre (much to Tea's extreme frustration). They had twin sons, of which one remained with his father despite their moments of extreme animosity. Nico is part angel, part demon, and part fire-imp-pixie. He's also possessed by a number of shadow-spirits that make his life difficult. Training has gotten most of these things under control, through sheer blood sweat and tears. Nic is the originator of him and Ransom's relationship; he was in love with his best friend long before the somewhat dense water elemental figured things out. He has a temper, but tends to be the steadier, more stable of the two.

The son of Ogre's good friend, Britain (hey, that's me! XD) and her mate, Orasteele (LOL Chu), Ransom takes after Steele in almost every way. They are both relatively short, pale, with long blue-black hair, cynical dispositions, and a penchant for stealing things and killing people. Both are master thieves, though Ransom's also been trained as an assassin. Steele is a water elemental, a magic that is even more pure in her son. The only thing he got from Brit is overpowering empathy, the ability to touch the emotions of others. Ran has little use for most people, and can be pretty damn catty and vicious if he chooses. He's also fiercely in love with Nico, and occasionally likes to wear girl's clothes. >_>
