early morning surprise-a call from Japan!
Ok,my old friend Becko(well,Rebecca..always have called her Becko for some odd reason) left for Japan earlier this year and I really havent heard much from her.We've been friends for roughly 13 years now and thats my longest friendship to date.She's a Christian Missionary teacher teaching english and the bible in Nishinomiya,which is near Kobe,Osaka and Nara.She's pretty much kept really busy with the church and her classes,but this morning I hear the phone ring in Breanne's room.Surprise!! Its Becko! Last thing I expected was a call from Japan at 9 in the morning(11 at night there,give or take a bit).Luckily she's doing well and will be home Xmas day,so I will be spending as much of that week as possible with her before she goes back.Sorry to anyone of you that want to see me at that time,but I really wont get the opportunity to see her again till next Xmas.She wants me to come stay with her this summer but with work being what it is,I dont think I will be able to...unless Mom goes with Breanne and Dad calls in former employee John to help for a week.At least I wouldnt have to pay for a hotel while I was there eh? Just food(which she may buy for me),plane ticket and spending money.She really,really,really wants me to come though.I also talked to her roomie Jodie?Joanie? Didnt quite catch it but she thinks I have a lovely voice.....??? First time Ive ever heard that...usually I get a "Dear god!!Are you always this loud and obnoxious!?" Not a " You have a lovely voice.You should try voice acting!" ummmmmm Thank you?
I dont think most of my friends I have now have ever met her.We went to middle school together and she was one of two best friends(the other was Kim Weiss-Delay).We met is 6th grade and were always together.We lost track of eachother for a while but picked up right where we left off with no awkwardness.You dont meet many people in your life that you can be that way with.She's a large girl,about 6 feet tall and weighty but she has a teeeeeny tiny,sweet girly voice.And then there was me always with her...half her height with three times the voice.My parents always said we should switch voices.Either way,the only reason I give this bit of background is that I woke my mom up while I was on the phone with Becko.Mom's room is on the far side of the house,her bed is on the furthest away wall and her door was shut and I still managed to wake her up.Be honest guys...am I REALLY that loud???
