Finally finished the little project I was working on. It's a reference to the game Portal - the weighted companion cube. It's probably not nearly as funny if you don't know what that is... or why the cake is a lie.
I gave this to Joe and Jenny. Might have to stitch another one if Joe decides to take it to work with him. Both of them were quite tickled with it.
Sprite Stitch has become my new favorite site. They pointed to a
pattern by tastethehappy which I started working on but then realized I didn't really like the way the letters looked at all. And it was a little smaller than what I really wanted. In the comments someone had posted their version (
Mostly Becky) but no pattern.
So I got a free pattern making program and drew a pattern based on the bigger version. The only thing I really changed was adding a slice of cake in one of the borders. Again, you'd have to play Portal (or be really into Internet culture) to really get that reference.
Now I'm working on a Wall-E & Eve one. Looks kinda like this (minus the words):
I'm almost through with the black outline. Just have Wall-E's head, then I can start on the colors. It's going to be roughly the same size as the Portal project was (5x7). No pictures of that just yet.
After I get that done, I'm either going to work on a surprise for my mom or a custom request from Joe. Guess it depends on what money I have since I have to get thread for Joe's project.
Oh, I also made a zombie pattern! It's not really ready for the public just yet though. Maybe closer to Halloween. Still needs some tweaking I think.
