week one, done and done
life is good in san miguel, im all unpacked and settled in and ive even got the beginings of a really nice routine started. i also began watching the hbo series 6 feet under after katia and i got a membership to blockbuster, mx. its so good it might be taking over my life...
inservice was last week and katia and i were dubbed the best aides that vasconcelos has had in years, as well as the bulletin board king and queen. today was the first day of school, and it looks like the pre-first teacher will be eaten alive by the 20 6 year olds shes currently incharge of before the week is out. this means, in the best case scenario, that kat-kat and i will team teach tia rosa´s (yes the woman really goes by auntie rose, however i refuse to endulge her. low, shes totally a new-age freak, and i know you would just die laughing if you ever met her.) class and share one full time teacher´s salary, and one full time aid´s salary. lets hope this works out...
i think i really like elementary aged kids. i got to help out with 6th grade, and im woried im going to have to beat those girls off with a stick (they all watched me eat lunch today), as well as first, fourth, and of course pre-first.
i think thats all i have for now, ill let you all know more as things come up.
this for sure though, i will be in monterrey for the forum to see bladi and all of the kids from trinity that will be with him and rosana b on their symposium trip from 10/31-11/4. i havent decided yet wether or not im taking that whole week off (or even if the school will let me) but if anyone would like to meet in monterrey for/before the conference i would love to have an andventure.
