The Perseids are coming
So, this post is an attempt to organize an outing to see the Perseid meteor shower peak on August 12th. I have missed them for several years running, now, and I aim to fix it this year. If you are inclined to do something incredibly dorky and fun, either post below or send me an email (steven.f.killen on gmail) to indicate interest.
I'm thinking of somewhere west of Chapel Hill. Eno River was a candidate, but it's too close to Durham, so light pollution would be terrible. Another alternative is Morrisville, which may be more promising. But I'm open to suggestions!
