Last year, Alice hadn't really bought into the whole Christmas Spirit deal. She generally didn't. Good cheer just wasn't her thing. But someone had left out a bottle of sherry in the kitchen that morning and she'd helped herself to a glass because Hell, it was Christmas, wasn't it ( Read more... )

"The hall," was John's instinctive reply, and so was the dry tone. Despite having been called Johnny yet again, John's glare faded as soon as it appeared. "Alice, if you've been drinking something good, you've got an obligation to share. It's Christmas."

About the only thing showing John had any Christmas spirit was the santa hat he was currently holding. He was going to get Rodney to wear it at least once, even if it killed him.

"I think someone left it out for cooking," Alice shrugged. "And why do you think I've been drinking? You're the one holding a Santa hat like it's the Holy fucking Grail." She smirked up at him.

The part he wasn't saying out loud was that there was no way in hell anyone was ever getting a santa hat on his head.

"Let me check." Alice poked him, hard, in the stomach. "Nope. Must be all that ITF training," she said as she looked up again. "But there's all of Christmas lunch and dinner to go yet. Are you planning on sticking around, or are you doing a drive-by Santa hat run?" The smirk stayed firmly where it was.
