Ah, here we go at last! [Tinkering at something with his back turned]

Just what's required, hm? All I've been working for, I would say- and such wonderful timing, at that. [Appears to be talking to someone at his side, turns and you can see him holding a stone of Nethicite.]The reigns of history back in the hands of man. Now, a much simpler task. ( Read more... )

Most certainly, my boy- a stone, and not just any kind, either. Have you ever heard of Nethicite?

Curious, how curious; But not surprising in the least. To many, this is a true manifestation of power.

Is that so? So, what are you planning on doing with it?

Humans, oh yes, at times; But as I said, it was the hands of man- And all of us, at that.

That so?

[and well, so long as innocent people aren't being slaughtered if they have power -- stare at Cid and thinks he doesn't seem like the type for mass murder but ...]

Then, I guess there's no reason to leave. Gotta make sure that those who get this power that you're giving don't abuse it. Then they'd just be power-hungry demons.

Power hungry demons? [Slow grin] Or simply the Gods that govern our laws.

Huh? Guess it's the same. But, ch' ... never did pay much attention to that. It bored me. The fighting to keep things in order was a lot more fun.

Then pay attention now; You'll find many benefits, boy. Order comes at a price no different than the ones we pay for our wishes.
