Did Soulless!Sam remember hell....?

I simply can't remember, and i don't currently have access to my season six episodes. But do we get any indication that he remembered hell?

Thanks!

at the end of Unforgiven, the events of the episode trigger him remembering hell.

Okay, yes, but that's Souled!Sam, isn't it? He got it back the episode before that, i think.....

sorry, didn't see your header. In Exile on Main Street, Sam does say he doesn't want to talk about it, but he was bullshitting Dean about most things so who knows.

Yeah, no kidding. Hard to know what's real and what isn't with *that* Sam.

In one of the Soulless!Sam episodes, I think it was The Third Man, Dean tries to blame Sam's weird behaviour on the fact that Sam went to hell. Sam never outright says whether he remembers or not, but he doesn't say that he doesn't either - he just indicates that Sam's hell memories are not haunting Sam, like Dean's memories of hell haunt Dean.

Don't know if that helps or not.

OH!
That's right, he did say that they weren't affecting him like Dean's memories did and i remember at the time wondering if that was a dig at Dean for being 'weak' or if Sam was lying about them either affecting him or about him remembering.

I took what he said to be a sort of tacit admission to remembering, but just shrugging them off.

I wondered later, too, if he's said that thinking he *should* remember, but wasn't, and just said it to seem more 'normal'.

Hrmmmmmm.....looks like i could go either way! Thank you! Awesome. :)

Well... I agree with my fellow researchers that it's not quite clear, I just want to add the fact that Soulless!Sam was back like... instantly. On the first day, so he spend hardly any time in hell at all. Not saying that time isn't relative and five minutes down there can't really fuck you up good, but as long as we don't assume a red-phone-line of soulless!Sam down to soul in the pit to get ongoing live-stream, we have to say that Sl!Sam cannot remember hell, since he wasn't there (for long anyway). Right?

Hrmmmmmmm.... That could be true. We don't actually know *how* much time he spent down there. He said he fell into the cage and then he 'woke up' in a field. When he goes to see Dean, though, that's not the same night that Dean gets to Lisa's i don't think, so either he waited to go see him or he was in there for a few days....

I wonder if Bobby said anything about how much time it was before Sam came to see him? I know Sam said he'd been out 'about a year'......
Arrgh - so frustrating not to be able to just go watch the eps!

Thanks for that, though, now i have more to ponder.... :)

Well... rewatched Exile on Main St. and Sam says 'I was down there one minute and then I was up here alone in a field and it was raining' so it stands to reason that he might have spend some short time in hell and since he KNEW the difference, that he remembers it too (if he didn't make these kinds of references up to bullshit Dean into thinking everything was normal, but I don't think he would go these lengths, since soulless!Sam wasn't exactly discreet about his aberrations all in all) Bobby told Dean at the question of how long he knew Sam was alive 'All year' so I think it's save to assume that Sam contacted bobby first thing. Soooo... hope that helps you out.

Yeah, it does. It's good he knew the difference though, yeah - Soulless!Sam isn't/wasn't all that trustworthy.

Thanks!
