Demons and how they move.....

Mostly this is to make sure...is there a consensus on whether or not demons can move around like angels can - by simply disappearing and than appearing somewhere else?

We saw that they can move people - Sam being taken to Cold Oak for instance - and Crowly vanished like Castiel can, so....

Basically they can *bamf* around all they like? Would that assumption make you go 'huh?' in a story or do you all think it's adequately supported in canon?
