random observations:

-This dude I work with has been exploiting the fact that he has some assistance for the past few months. I am that assistant. Lately I've been catching on to all of his games. Regardless, I am thankful for this situation because the more work I do, the more they tell me how much they need me and that the help is really appretiated. Which equals me still having work in 2004. Back to this dude, Mike. He completely reminds me of an old friend from high school that some of you may know: Cedric Colond. They both share the unusual and rare trait of placing all their focus and thought into getting out of doing any kind of physical work. This is really obvious because his job is almost complete physical work. Yet i've never seen someone complain to my face how hard it is to handle doing so much physical work, while watching ME do it all.

He is a 27y old man (looks like he is 35), who wears a giant brimed zorro hat, and a long cloak (which is all black, otherwise thats TOO wacky) with no education passed highschool. His past is mostly a blur to everyone, other than working at a gas station for a short while. Until one day he magically snapped the tendon attached to his heal, while..............walking. (which is usually something that happens to a person that works out too hard). He is constantly insecure, casting out insults to everyone, and then losing his temper if he even thinks someone is attempting a joke. He is losing his hair, and ridiculously sensitive about it. I'll end this portion with a little anecdote:

*I was helping mike deliver some bins down to the basement. While we were sorting some mail, a courier came in to drop off some more things. He saw mikes zorro hat and commented "nice hat" then left. We both laughed a little, and went back to work. I then said "for a second i thought he was talking about my hair". To anybody else, it would be clear that i was hinting that my hair is out of hand, and looks like a wig. He then frowns and says "yeah, you would say that, arrogant prick". I stare at him for a few seconds then go back to work. I later occurs to me that he thought i was hinting that i have a lot of hair, and he barely has any, needing wacky hats to replace the abilty to style his hair*

-I have noticed that evening television news (canadian news), will always place an extermely light noted, sentimental news piece on right after some horrible headliner. Both are real, but I have a feeling that the light noted piece would not be there if it wasn't needed to cheer people up. Third day follow-up of 3 teenagers that murdered a 12y old boy, then accompanied by a story of two girls who had their fundraising for an elevator ripped off, but now have misc contactors donating it to them. I'm not saying that neither piece is important. I just don't like the idea of news mixing my ice cream with my shit and serving it warm.

-Also, something I've seen from CNN any time I pass by it: they do the WORST interviews. If its a researcher, they rush him way to much. It it's an entertainer, they embaress him or make him feel uncomfortable. It always comes down to their second or third last question in an interview; thats the firestarter. The question that made them seek out the interview in the first place, and where the person interviewed thinks: "why the hell would they ask me this??". I can only assume that someone a good portion of america loves to see people embaressed or speechless, or just annoyed.

Oh, on a lighter note, my father won an award for "Exceptional Client Service", and got a standing ovation at a city meeting. Finally after 30 years, he gets a public pat on the back. I'm happy for him.
