Dorchester, et al

So the Dorchester Conference this weekend in Seaside was ah-mazing. It more than lived up to it’s reputation. We met with all the big names in Oregon Republican politics and drank like prohibition was upon us. We debated a potential invasion of Iran (overwhelmingly approved), and civil unions (overwhelmingly opposed). They debated Social Security reform as well, but I decided to get an early start on my drinking and play on the bumper cars. Even better? We stopped at the Hooters in Beaverton on the way home. :o) I love being conservative.

We got the chance to hang out with some really cool CR’s from OSU, and I’m looking forward to Sun River with them in the spring. I fully wrestled one of them on Saturday while everyone was out at the bonfire on the beach, and Josh and some of the OSU girls went skinny dipping. At 0100. Crazy kids.

Meanwhile, my schedule next term is super cool. I’m taking two classes with Dr. Baxter, both of them relating to the Middle East, one of them on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the other on the Middle East in general. I am continuing with German and Swahili, and I picked up a Colloquium on Aztec Language and Culture. Yay me. :o)

Anyway, that’s it for me for the evening. I need to get some sleep.
