Goodness, you know much more about terraria than I do! Mr. Frog's setup could use much improvement, frankly. He was a gift from a friend, so we tried to duplicate her setup, which had rocks, a large piece of wood, and peat covering the floor. It also had a water bowl. I added a potted ivy to our setup and I covered the mesh grate partially with some saran wrap so some of the humidity would stay in and he wouldn't get cold (cage is really not in an optimal place right now: drafty). It has a hygrometer and it stays at about 50%. We mist him and fill his water bowl and feed him with crickets, which themselves are appropriately fed with cricket food.

I know he could be happier because he spends most of his time parked on the side of the glass near the top of the tank, but when there are crickets and when the cage is super-moist he comes down and hangs out in the ivy or on the rock shelf under the piece of wood (curved piece of wood about 4"x12", one end on the moss and one end on a 6" chunk of petrified wood). Light for the critter currently consists of indirect sunlight through the window, and I know that's not ideal, for him or the plant.

If I've done something horribly wrong, please don't yell at me too loud! :D Please feel free to correct any of my mistakes, or point me to a good amphibian site.

I won't yell at you :) I know you are not an asshole, and that you want to do your best for your critters.

As long as your frog's color is good (i.e. he is green rather than grey) he doesn't need special lighting; the light from the window might be enough. You can provide heat for him with an undertank heater; these are pretty cheap and stick onto the bottom of the tank. They mustn't get wet, though, so they can be a pain during cleaning. T-Rex makes a sort of tank heater that doesn't stick, so that might work well for you. In winter you might want to add a small incandescent bulb for extra heat. The saran wrap is a very good idea! It is good to keep a herp thermometer inside the tank to keep an eye on his temp.

Don't waste your money on cricket food. It's basically a ripoff. It is better to gut load crickets with a mixture of dark leafy greens, like collards, and a small bit of citrus fruit. Cheaper for you and better for him. You can dist the crickets with calcium before feeding.

It's pretty normal for them to park near the top of the cage. It just means he wants more height; they like to climb. Whenever you move him to a bigger place, you might try getting a taller tank for him.

He doesn't really NEED a water feature as long as he has a water dish and regular misting, but if you WANT to add a water feature, he should be fine, as long as he has climbing space and th water is kept very clean.

Here's a good link on care: http://www.anapsid.org/greentreefrog.html

You are really doing quite well. :)
