It’s taken two years longer than you thought it would, but the day is finally here. September 4th, 2008: debut. “Let’s go get 'em,” you say, all your past regrets disappearing in the face of this moment, this now - in the face of the other six members of the (your) band. “Two-”
“PM,” they finish, six hands joining yours, all shaking slightly from pre-debut excitement (and fear).
“The hottest time of day!” Nichkhun crows, and then you are all squishing and shoving and crowding out of the waiting room, murmuring last-minute ‘good luck’s and ‘we can do it’s.
It’s your time. Your stage.
The lights and the adrenaline.
It’s only three minutes, but it feels like forever.
It feels like you belong. Like you never want to leave.
“Boys, we the best,” you say, clapping Taekyeon on the back. “The hottest time of day!” They cheer and you all laugh, seven tired members on the first day of life as 2PM.
