I've missed reading your fics!! :D So many great little moments in this - you always did write the best team interaction.

"My girlfriend can't come," Renji says.

Sanada blinks. Soap slithers down his face. His eye stings. "Renji?"

Renji cranks his shower onto full blast. "-at junior high still," he says.

That's when I started to laugh out loud in my office. XD

"Let's try this again," Yukimura says.

Sanada looks up. They are alone. The clubhouse is locked for the night, and neither the captain or vice captain will give them a key. But the courts are open, lit by the yellow phosphorescence of the flood lights. Insects swarm above their heads in the purple dusk. "Seiichi?"

Yukimura takes a step closer. His face is flushed from practice. His throat bobs. Sanada's face feels warm all over, too.

"Do you want to go on a date?" he asks.

Sanada stands beside the water fountain for a long time. Yukimura bites his lip.

"Okay," Sanada says.

I loved this set-up, so naturally I had to quote all of it, LOL. Yukimura is so patient....and Sanada is so hopeful. *sigh* Just lovely ~

The slow, sweet kiss at the end!! With both of them having garlic breath - prefect!
