Being that I haven’t commented until now, I want to ask if this particular piece will have a (shorter) sequel from Yagyuu’s POV. Seriously, in some ways I thought I had him figured out, but when he distanced himself from Niou in such an, hmm, marked way, it made me wonder more than a little (at least his mother let us know that he was not unaffected by the separation).
Way back on the beginning, from what I got/perceived from Niou’s POV, Yagyuu clearly cares (for reasons I’m still wondering about) very much about Niou’s comments despite being perfect strangers, at least enough to make him drop tennis (if only in school) twice and come back as soon as he asks. In some Freudian way, I can understand why this is, but still...
Right now I’m really curious about Yagyuu’s reaction to Niou’s family when he meets them (unless you’re dropping the: they won, but “they” lose!!). It’s my firm belief that he only wants to meet them because Niou doesn’t want him to meet them. Really, I don’t see other reason as to why he is forcing the issue in this way (if it’s simple curiosity, this is too much).
I’m seeing the sudden tolerance/scenes between Kirihara & Niou as either: Niou is subconsciously touched by what Akaya said to him after he “come back” (don’t really think so, but hey, all is possible), or... the sudden scenes, from and outsiders perspective can be see very different, and I can think of one or two that can see it like attraction
... and you can see why I generally don’t comment: I tend to ramble.

Great story!!

It would be very cruel of an author to lead up to something like Yagyuu meeting Niou's family, only to cut the scene out by the excuse of "they won, but they lost"...eheh...
Of course most of the reason Yagyuu wants to meet them is for the same reasons you list above--after all, Niou tries to be sneaky about certain aspects of his life, it makes Yagyuu curious.
Kirihara and Niou is one of my sweet, other "guilty" pleasures (along with Sanada/Niou) so it crops in fom time to time ;)
Thank you so much!
