Author's Notes: Drabble-age for jibundai.

The shop is on the corner of the street, right across from the entrance to school. Sanada checks his watch. He shifts his eyes. He shifts his weight onto his other foot. Another school girl walks into the doors and gives him a funny look.

Sanada scowls. He scuffs his flip-flop on the pavement. It was Renji's idea to meet here, not his. If it were up to him, they would have met somewhere respectable, like his dojo, where his mom could make cookies and tea.

Instead, he's trapped outside of Starbucks waiting for Yukimura and Renji, who are nearly a half hour late and another girl in a short polka-dot dress with jiggling boobs minces past him, giggling with her friend in that vague way that makes Sanada feel even more awkward and lame.

Behind him, something taps the Starbucks window on the inside. Sanada stiffens. He shuffles down another step closer to the door to get away. The tapping follows.

"Tarundoru," Sanada mutters. A girl exits the shop and walks away quickly, shooting him a weird glance. Sanada frowns.

Yukimura and Renji show up like it's nothing. Yukimura smiles and Renji waves his hand. "Have you been waiting long?" Renji asks.

"No," Sanada says. His face feels warm. The sun has shifted and the shade from the Starbucks canopy is non-existent now.

Renji raises an eyebrow. Yukimura grabs Sanada's arm and says, "Oh, that's good. Come on, then!"

Sanada tries to plant his feet and say No in a big, stern voice, but as soon as Yukimura's soft hand brushes his arm, he's gone. Yukimura drags him inside. The smell of roasted coffee beans and sweet pastries, the grinding sound of the machines, the splashing of cream and the shouts of orders is nearly as overwhelming as Yukimura's touch.

Renji looks at the blackboard menu. He smiles.

Yukimura looks at the baristas. Then he grins and looks at Sanada. "Ne, you can order Sanada, right?"

Sanada blinks. "Why?"

"You can get us the discount," Renji says.

Sanada hates them both in that moment.

"I'll have the Tazo Zen tea," Renji says.

"I want a chocolate chip frappuccino," Yukimura says, "with blended cream."

Sanada starts to ask Yukimura if that's really the healthiest option for his body, but Yukimura's punch to Sanada's bicep stops him. Sanada winces. Head hung low, he shuffles to the counter and mutters the order.

"Oi, Gen-chan, don't look so glum!" a voice says. "What was that last thing, by the way? You need to speak louder, lazy ass!"

If it were possible, Sanada would very much like to retreat under his baseball cap and die. Instead, his brother reaches over the counter and pilfers Sanada's cap. Sanada's eyes fly open and he lunges across the counter, but the cash register is in the way.

That, and a display of Starbucks™ candies knocks over.

Sanada cringes.

His brother folds his arms over his Starbucks apron and frowns. "You think I'm going to give you the family discount now, Gen-chan?" He narrows his eyes at Sanada under the stolen cap.

Sanada mumbles, "Tarundoru," to himself. He hands over his last 1000 yen.

He carries the three drinks to the booth Yukimura and Renji have saved. Sanada sets the drinks down. There is a free seat beside Yukimura, and a free seat beside Renji. Sanada hesitates. Then, he slides in beside Renji. It's safer.

Until Yukimura frowns. He stirs his frappuccino with the straw and breaks the whipped cream topping up. "I don't want this," Yukimura says.

Sanada frowns.

Yukimura reaches across the table. He grabs Sanada's macha frappuccino and swaps the drinks. "I want yours instead," Yukimura says. His lips curl over Sanada's straw and Sanada shivers.

It's a bit weird to be envious of a Starbucks straw, but Yukimura should know better than to move his mouth around the green straw like that. And then to lick his lips after. His pink tongue slides over his mouth. Sanada stares at the chocolate chip frap and he squirms.

"So," Renji says, "I think I've worked out the simulation settings for the machine. If we increase yesterday's settings by a ten degree angle and a 5km/hour velocity we can replicate the Tezuka Zone-"

"Tezuka Zone?" Yukimura asks.

Sanada hisses. He glares at Renji and tries to telepathically shout at him You shouldn't have said anything!! Under the table, Sanada tries to kick Renji. Renji shifts his foot and all Sanada hits is the table leg. His foot smarts. Sanada hisses again.

"Are you working on something secret?" Yukimura asks. He stirs his macha frap vigorously, making a mess inside the plastic cup. He sticks his bottom lip out and pouts. "Weren't you going to tell me about it?"

Sanada grunts.

"What was that?" Yukimura snaps. He looks at Renji, who sips his tea and looks away. Renji is crap at pretending not to know.

"What did you say, Sanada?" Yukimura asks.

Sanada mutters, "It's my new move" a little louder. Yukimura sits back on the leather-backed booth and looks down his nose at Sanada. He says nothing for a long time.

A barista walks past them, pushing a broom. Sanada's brother waves to them. He flashes Yukimura a retarded smirk and an eyebrow wiggle. "Everything all right?" he asks.

"Of course," Renji says.

Yukimura sniffs.

Sanada says nothing. He scowls into the chocolate chip frap before he takes a sip. Okay, it's better than the macha. He's kinda glad Yukimura stole his frappuccino because the chocolate chips melt over his tongue, blossoms of dark sweetness.

Until his brother says, "That's a girly drink, Gen-chan" and walks the other direction, still pushing the broom.

Sanada's face burns. Yukimura stops scowling long enough to laugh. Even Renji has set his tea aside to chuckle.

"I hate you both," Sanada says. He opens his mouth to say something else, but the tandem chorus catches him off guard when both Yukimura and Renji say, "Tarundoru".

They know him awfully well, after all.
