I sincerely doubt you will ever cease to amaze me.

Some of us, indeed perhaps all of us, have our defense mechanisms that we've built up inside ourselves.

I'm going to be hypocritical right now. I'm going to give you advice that I myself don't even particularly follow. Bear with me, hon.

To build up your defenses in such a way, especially in a manner that simply shuts you down, is to deny something's existence within you; an emotion, feeling, or reaction. Be it physical or mental, it doesn't matter. To deny the existence of it is to deny yourself the learning experience, the true learning experience, to be gained from it. To deny an emotion, feeling, conflict, or resolution is to deny a certain part of yourself to grow. As sentient beings, with the ability to think for ourselves and control our own reactions, this is in fact some way to deny ourselves of our own humanity. Thus, we lose touch with ourselves.

Let the flood gates be opened, love. I'll always be there to help you weather the tide. I perfectly understand that it is near impossible to completely understand exactly what someone is experienceing for themselves, but it's never too much to ask someone to help you make sense of it.

Eventually, you'll be able to revise your book, missing pages included and all.
