This morning, I received 4 moderated submissions to the
daniel-vala community from suspicious accounts:
congmetu,
itboufza,
rwenelat &
tionilhy I
reported them to LiveJournal as bot accounts & also
banned them from the community for these reasons:
- The content they posted did not pertain to the community.
- The content of the entries were meaningless nonsense text in both Russian and English.
- The single bit.ly link in each entry redirected to a page going to a 404 error.
- Nearly identical content was submitted by multiple bot accounts, most likely part of a botnet.
I reported the links to
support@bitly.com as spam because bitly.com/ 1xs5Slb and bitly.com/ 1v5vEgT both go to the domain ab-ap.kozar.kuliah.co.id, which returns a 404. (FYI if you
add the + symbol to the end of a bit.ly link, it provides you a preview of where the link goes to.)
Other communities I'm a member of had several similar spambot entries posted to them today, which the mods quickly deleted.
The entries contained random, auto-generated text fragments in Russian & English, plus either the black & white image "kolmogorov455.jpg" of pre-calculus in Russian (shown at right) or a color photograph of a stack of books (which I didn't right-click save).
