When my alarm went off this morning, I proveniently forgot that it was Monday and slammed the snooze button. At about half past 7oo, I realized I was going to miss my bus if I didn't immediately get my ass in gear. Fortunately, I put out my clothes and packed my bag/lunch the night before. So, I grabbed a bowl of cereal and ran out the door. Not with the cereal. I ate that first, then ran out the door. I also put on a coat and shoes.
On my way to the bus terminal, I saw Erica, whom you will remember from last year. She is at my practicum placement again this year. It's nice having a bus buddy. Especially when we pulled the cord to stop the bus too soon. Awkward! Hehe.
My associate is M. Gregory. She looks a lot like Miss Gutkowski, my sixth grade teacher. She's got vair pretty blue eyes (I would notice these details) and randomly speaks with an accent. I'm trying to figure it out without asking her what it is. But it was hilarious when she introduced me to the class:
Associate: ...and her name is also Ms Gregory!
Class: -Giggles-
Student: -Clasps hands over her mouth.-
Associate: I know! And not only that, but her initials are the same as mine!
Same Student: -Clasps hands over her mouth.-
Associate: How many are you are going to be confused?
Class: -Raises their hands.-
Associate: Maybe we should call her Ms G.
That one little girl made my day. I've named her Mindy v2.0, because she reminds me so much of Mindy from when we were in grade school. The rest of the kids are pretty cute. This one boy kept giving me stickers and one of the girls said I was pretty. Haha, how pathetic am I? Answer: not pathetic at all. I just don't take compliments for granted (...especially when they're few and far in between).
The school itself is fairly new, which is awesome. And I haven't seen any charity cases just yet, which is kind of a relief. Teaching in Brantford can be depressing at times. I think this will be a good year so, yay!
On a side note, Amy looked insanely cute and professional even with her sling, it kind of made me smile.
