Effectively moving in with Sam was one of Peter's better decisions, in Peter's not so humble opinion. Amongst other things, it meant he could literally lie in wait for his boyfriend to get home once he was done with work.

Peter passed the time by reading comics and rubbing Scout's belly.

As soon as Sam was done in the library, he headed straight back to his room, and he couldn't help but laugh at the sight that greeted him. "I am going to have the most spoiled dog in the world now, aren't I?" he asked. "He's going to get used to having someone's attention all the time."

"Which reminds me that you're out of dog treats," Peter said, utterly teasing.

"If you gave him all the treats I had left, you get to walk him," Sam said.

"It's possible that I already did," Peter said, "because I am an awesome boyfriend."

"Really?" Sam shut the door and grinned at Peter. "You certainly know how to earn your keep around here, in addition to just being awesome."

"It helps that one of my new roommates is cute," Peter said. "You're not so bad either."

"If you keep that up, I'm going to start to think you like Scout more than me," Sam said, almost pouting playfully.

"I have to admit it's nice having a dog to hang with," Peter said. He gave Scout a skritch behind the ears. "It's been a while."

Sam smiled at that and sat down beside Peter. "I'm glad you had someone to keep you company while I was out," he said.

"I snuck up to the sixth floor for a while," Peter admitted. "Figured put in my time since Monday was a day off. How was the library?"

"It was good. Kind of quiet, but I don't mind that," Sam replied. "It gives me time to read and think about you getting all strong upstairs."

"You're welcome to visit when I'm up there on a Monday," Peter said. "If that helps your imagination."

"Oh, that could definitely help. And then I can make sure you eat too," Sam said.

"I wouldn't say no," Peter said. "I might even thank you later."

"With a polite, verbal thank you?" Sam teased.

"For a start," Peter replied.
