Personality:
What you need to remember is that contractors lack emotions; they make rational decisions and majority of the time that would lead to killing. In Amber's case though, she has proven to evolve from other contractors. The first step is commonly is when you consider close allies or even friends as 'comrades'. Showing how you care for the lives of a comrade already the contractor developed the change.
For example, Amber cares deeply for Hei despite him believing her to be a traitor. Amber would order her subordinates to avoid fighting Hei, or plan ahead of time to avoid confrontation with miscellaneous fights. Amber prefers to avoid him until the time is right. It's also shown later it hurts her to watch Hei only from a distance knowing the consequences, making sure he is well. Amber has shown her affection all the way to the end. Other than her feelings towards Hei, Amber has shown her feeling towards others like to Amagiri more as a comrade.
Amber is very tactic. With the ability to see what will happen in the next coming events, Amber prepares not only herself but aware her followers what to expect and what to do. Amber even accepts the deaths of some individuals later in the event, although she gives them warning of the out come.
Although she is consider a traitor for two organizations, Amber is a very kind person. She keeps her smile and encourages her followers. She also tries to teach other contractors about feelings and emotions knowing they will learn eventually. Amber has good patience especially playing through the events to come.

Amber's ability is to bend and manipulate time and space; temporarily freezing of time and rewinding of evens to an unknown degree. She uses this power to gain knowledge of the future evens, and flows with it. Once time has been frozen around her, she can also pull other people out of the frozen time stream. The only thing that keeps her power use to a minimum is her remuneration; aging backwards, making her appear frequently younger. If she uses it too frequently, she will cease to exist.
Using her ability to gain knowledge of the future and up coming events, Amber uses this to be very tactic. She'll plan ahead of time and know exactly what the result is to become.
As a contractor, Amber lacks little emotion; mostly fear. She is capable of remaining calm even close to death. Remember, contractors acts rational so fear are the least of their worries.
Weaknesses:
Speaking in terms of a contractor again, Amber lacks the touch. Even in the coldest weather, the numb of the cold is the least of her worries. Contractors fear very little. The only time the thought of pain will strike is when its inflicted. Like, she could be running and then step on a nail. She'll ignore the pain and continue running if she has to instead of having the sense of pausing for a moment to check for infection and such.
A big weakness for her is Hei. Even though she loves him, she knows she can't see him. Like watching your child with new foster parents from a window, this is how she displays her feelings towards him. She still has faith on Hei he will live but cannot help but worry and wonder about him.

[After a moment of silence, she calmly smiles as her tone drops to a small mutter. Although she smiles, her expression is dull, dead pan.] It's not Tokyo.

And again the sun is ready to set at the shrine where she promise to be. Like someone rewinding back to this place again knowing how the scene will play out, yes it was all too familiar. There Amber sat close to the shrine with her company, Yin and Amagiri. It doesn't cease to tire her watching the sun sets. How many times now, three or four? She looks down to the sleeping doll smiling pleasantly as she strokes Yin's soft hair. Seeing the doll awakening, Amber lifts her fingers away from her. Tilting her baseball hat up, enough to see Yin's eyes, Amber spoke with a calm tone, "you look peacefully when you sleep."
She didn't want to pose to Yin as a threat. Still smiling remembering the time they spent together previously Amber continues, "...it's been a while, Yin. Amber allows the girl to sit up straight for the time being. Resting both palms on the ground, Amber looks forward with a slight grin on her face. A small conversation begins, remembering the days they spent together, those pleasant memories. It was as if two girls sitting at a park chatting their daily lives, sharing their stories and secrets. Surprisingly, when Amber turns her head to watch if the doll would react she did. Well, not expressing it but Yin's response told differently. Amber smiles brightly at this development.
Then as the sun sets just as she remembers, Amber turns towards the stairs leading up to the shrine. "He's here," Amber spoke calmly awaiting for his arrival. The 'hate' from his expression hasn't changed. Shot on the right leg again. Hei continues to struggle himself up the final steps limping. Still, Amber pushes herself off her seat towards Hei. "Hei, are you alright?" Amber worries. "Here, let me take a loo--" just as she reaches out towards his leg Hei slaps her hand away from him. Amber froze knowing she's been neglected again.

Amber originally worked as a spy for the Secret Intellignce Serivice [MI6] assigned with her codename 'February along with November 11, April, and July. She later betrayed them and joined the Syndicate as 'Amber' her new name. She worked together with Hei and Bai in South America during the Heaven's War in which the Gate of Heaven was located. She founded her own organization, the Evening Primrose during the war. The Evening Primrose is an organization that gives contractors rights and their existence. The reason for this creation is because both Amber and Bai learned that PANDORA intends to destroy both Heaven and Hell gate to kill the contractors.
After creating her own organization, she went missing together with Bai and millions of other people when the Heaven's Gate disappeared, although returned to fight the Syndicate with the remaining people of Evening Primrose. Amber disappears again only to go into hiding for now.
Her objective is to destroy the Hell's Gate in away that doesn't erase every contractor from existence. Amber plans to have Hei destroy it just as Bai did back in South America.
