Well, the hat could have lice, and the lice could have a parasite, spreading from host to host whenever the hat touched a new head.

Oh, it might. My parasite doesn't really give a damn about sharing or not, so long as you don't mess with it's MO, I guess. My shrink had smallpox and rabies on top of being a carrier, for example.

I can, but only the carrier form. There're some guys who have a theory that my parasite is an overevolved strain of rabies, d'you know?

Which is what I said. But they think that because they both share so many similar symptoms, the strains might've split a few million years ago, one becoming a virus and the other becoming a parasite.
