Excuse me for a moment while I spin around in dizzy circles and faint and then revive and scream until my lungs give out because I LOVE YOU BEYOND WORDS
At first I was like, what even is this song, why? And then I kept watching and the more I watched the more the kind of bittersweet-ish mellowness of it ended up fitting and oh god I could watch this over and over and over for hours and OH GOD I JUST. All those little moments of captaincy and command and how great is 0:35 where it goes right from Pike's dare into Kirk rescuing him from the Narada and you know when Pike left on that shuttlecraft he didn't think he was coming back and I could write a whole essay here about Pike and George Kirk but let's not even get into that oh god oh god I can't you should see my face right now. Or you shouldn't, my expression would scare you.
And this song! Oh god, I think I'm in love with this song, those lazy drums, those vocals and lyrics, eee, I want this song in my ears forever. Hell, I am just going to glue this video to the inside of my eyelids and play it over and over and over again.

this song is the greatest thing that happened to me in may, period. like, when i finally got sony vegas to work and had the idea of making the video, i was like "screw it any kirk pairing would fit this song after enough plays". AND LOOK I WAS ACTUALLY RIGHT, well, in this case. xi!kirk is kind of a foot shooter to me, especially when he first met pike; he was on his way to become a great danger to himself if someone didn't come along and beat (or dare) some sense into him. besides, the song itself is very well-written and pleasant to the ears, THE DRUMS ARE AMAZING, etc.
oh my god i'm so happy that you noted the moments of their captaincy! well that's the bulk of what this video is but i was trying to piece together the contrast and continuity of their movements and commands, because if kirk's dad left him a captain's chair, pike was the one who taught kirk how to sit on it. also i don't know how my heart is gonna get through it but I WANT TO READ YOUR ESSAY ON PIKE AND GEORGE KIRK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

of course this vid is also a part of my giant conspiracy to fill you up with feels and squeeze more fic out of you (evil laugh) but omg the captain's chair on the xi!enterprise is not fixed on the floor according to chris pine and it often tips over during filming so now i'm imagining how this might factor into the captain's chair sex hahahahahaha just keep going on the floor i guess
