I'm having a rather large problem at the moment. Not really a bad thing, just an I don't know what to do thing.
I've mentioned to people before that I am going back to Edinburgh at the end of the year on a working holiday visa, provided they give me one of course. Anyhoo, as Robert only works six months and is rather dependent on people taking holidays and tipping him, money has been rather tight for him. Not so much for me. With money being tight it would of course make financial sense for me to fly over to him. The problem with that is I keep freaking out on long haul flights if I fly by myself. I have managed to find several solutions to this problem as four people I know are flying at least to London during the time frame I'd want to go back and all have very nicely been willing to have me come with them.
However, at some point I really got attached to the idea of him coming over here and getting to know my friends and family better and was pretty disappointed when that wasn't going to happen. In some way I was also trying to put off leaving the security that having a job provides, also I could really use Robert's extra suitcase space. ;) Robert offered to come over despite the money thing and while I would really love that I think the cost is just too much. So I want to get my butt on a plane with Xy.
The problem, I don't have enough money together to make the visa application. There is a very slight possibility that my tax will come through by the end of next week along with my pay which will give me enough, just. I'm just not sure that I will get the VISA in time and that is really going stress me out.
So basically, do I take the risk of not getting the VISA in time (they claim for simple cases you should allow 20 working days for approval) or do I wait and blow a whole heap of money that we might need?
